FLORIDA SEATBELT LAWS ♦ Click it or Ticket ♦ Seat belts save lives

STATEWIDE – March 1 – 15 will be the "Click It or Ticket" safety-belt enforcement campaign statewide. The crackdown will be looking for drivers and passengers – including children younger than 18 - will be ticketed if they aren't buckled.

The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, Zephyrhills Police and Dade City Police are joining the Florida Highway Patrol and Florida Department of Transportation in "Click It or Ticket" safety-belt enforcement campaign. During the campaign, some agencies will be conducting seat-belt checkpoints both day and night looking for violators.

Thirty percent of Florida traffic fatalities are due drivers and passengers to failing to buckle up. Safety belts are eighty percent effective in reducing fatalities in light trucks, including sport utility vehicles, during rollover crashes. According to law enforcement officials, seatbelts also help prevent individuals from being totally ejected during a crash, reducing the risk of a fatal injury.

Florida Injury Attorney G. Alan Tripp and the injury law team at the Tripp Law Firm encourages you to “Buckle Up.” http://www.trippfirm.com/
