STATEWIDE – Three of Florida’s major highways have been ranked as the most dangerous in the nation. Interstate 4, Interstate 75 (I-275) and Interstate 95 have all been singled out as three of the most dangerous roads in the nation. But why? One motorist put it this way, “Anybody who lives in this part of Florida knows it can be a parking lot one minute and traffic running 80 miles an hour the next."
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) officials say, drivers’ simply not paying attention is one of the main reasons for the dangerous driving conditions on these and other highways.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the three major problems are speed, distracted driving and the drunk driving. Distracted driving is careless driving; and careless driving is one of the leading causes of motor vehicle accidents. Pay attention! Do not text and drive. Don’t cause an accident or become a statistic. And remember to buckle up. Seat belts save lives and it’s the law!
