SUN CITY — According to the Florida Highway Patrol, two people injured resulting from a crash on Interstate 75, just south of Tampa. An out of state woman was driving a Toyota SUV north on I-75, north of Sun City Center Boulevard, in the inside lane when her right rear tire blew. The driver of the SUV lost control of her vehicle, swerved into the center lane, into the path of a Ford pickup truck.
Upon impact, both vehicles spun out of control causing the pickup truck to overturn crossing the median ending up in the southbound side of the highway. The driver of the pickup truck was transported to Tampa General Hospital with critical injuries. The driver of the SUV was transported to South Bay Hospital.
The passengers in the SUV were not injured. No charges have been filed.
